It’s time for a little self-reflection. During the January and February did you utter the phrase…
- This is uncomfortable
- This is tough
- I don’t know how to get it done
I shared an article on LinkedIn this week that really got me thinking on a different level about my relationship with fear and failure. In the article Sara Blakely, CEO of Spanx, shares the best advice she received.
Any ideas on what it might be? Her father would frequently ask:
“What did you fail at this week?”
This planted a seed in her mind and strong connection that failures can be celebrated as a path to growth and success.
So often we shy away from uncomfortable things because we are afraid to fail. We think every step has to be perfect before we even get started. That’s a little like saying I won’t start my road trip from Los Angeles to New York until EVERY traffic light is green. Bonkers. Get started on the journey and know there will be a few stop lights along the way 😉
What would happen in your life if you began to see failures as steps towards success?
What would happen in the life of your kiddos if they didn’t fear failure?
Be Remarkable. Be Unstoppable.
